We work exclusively with small businesses to provide our customers with quality from design, packaging, manufacturing and distribution. It feels personal because it is. Quality is at the heart of every product listed on Ujimaa that go directly from our sellers hands into yours. We pride ourselves on amplifying the voices of sellers in our marketplace and not the things they sell. We started off with a simple way to provide clarity to customers by adding icons to products. Based on customer feedback, we realized icons weren’t enough to help identify each business. So, we added the “Sold By” classification in the short description of every product and encourage all of our sellers to fill out their biography's within their personal shop on Ujimaa. Our marketplace empowers sellers to do what they love and helps buyers find more of what they love. As we've grown we continue to look for new ways to amplify sellers in our marketplace. We started featuring our sellers in a series called Behind the Brand that gives our audience more insight into the amazing individuals behind the businesses we've featured. In such a short time, we’ve created an online community for BIPOC and women-owned businesses to be amplified and people are noticing.
