Wabanaki Maple is a female Indigenous-owned maple syrup company, based in Neqotkuk First Nation, New Brunswick. In 2018, Inspired by her Wolastoqiyik roots, Jolene Johnson (Laskey) began her journey as an entrepreneur and strives to create a sweeter day in a traditional way, by sharing and reconnecting people and communities with a piece of Indigenous culture through Wabanaki’s maple syrup products. For centuries, Indigenous People have harvested this sweet sap from the Sugar Maple tree and today, it is still harvested, boiled and refined using both old and new techniques! Wabanaki Maple is known for creating a twist on traditional maple syrup and provides signature flavours of barrel aged Oak, Whisky & Bourbon maple syrups.
